Alpaca is one of the most luxurious fibres in the World. It is the second strongest natural fibre to silk, as luxurious and soft as cashmere yet more durable than both. For people sensitive to sheep wool rest assured alpaca fibre doesn’t irritate the wearer as it is hypoallergenic. Due to the nature of the fur shades and markings can vary so may not be identical to the image.
The Alpaca fur used in these products are ethically sourced. The Alpacas from which the skins are removed are not killed for their fur and have died of natural causes.
You can gently brush the fur, we recommend using a baby’s hair brush.
For a little freshen up or to lift any residue or spills, rub talcum powder in the fur and shaking it off.
For a more thorough wash we recommend the use of a dry cleaners.
There is a tradition in Peru which has developed as a result of the death of weaker and very young Alpaca in the harsh Andean Winters. Alpaca roam freely in their natural terrain on the Altiplano of the Andes where temperatures can plummet in the Winter
